Once you can see all apps hold down the Settings icon with your finger and drag it from the app drawer to an open area on your home screen and let go.

That's what it means to open your app drawer, swiping up from the bottom center (I think your phone has a little arrow symbol indicating where to swipe up). The Settings app is the new Control Panel in Windows 10. This opens the app drawer where you can see all the apps on your phone. Is that correct? To access all your apps swipe up from the bottm center area of the screen. It sounds like you mean the Settings "shortcut" icon disappeared from your home screen. Is there any other way to get the icon back?

Thanks for replying, but I don't have six little dots in a bottom drawer, I had 5 icons and one of them was the settings icon and I do know how to access settings by drawing that down twice, it was just so much easier to access by just using the icon that was there on the homepage before.
